Maria is a highly spirited individual. The essence of her driving passion poses a dynamic and passionate energy that caresses everyone within her presence. Once on stage or on camera, Maria has a natural ability to easily fall into any character ranging from comedy to tragedy and everything in between. She is a pleasure to work with and enthusiastically follows directions easily.
While becoming involved in film during the past few years, Maria Vitas has successfully acquired membership to AFTRA and SAG, milestones which came to her quickly over a mere two and a half year period.
She is most grateful for ongoing opportunities in the field of film while having years of experience on and off the stage, performing, choreographing etc.
She’d like to thank all of the many great acting teachers and coaches from whom she’s learned so much and to LA film directors and Academy Award-winning writers with whom she’s had one on one time and who have shared their expertise, wisdom and time; I am forever grateful.

I can remember at the ripe old age of five I wanted to act.
A huge secret and I didn’t dare tell anyone! “That’s crazy thinking” or “no that’s not for you” or “that only happens in Hollywood” – well, it’s not crazy thinking, it happens in many places and yes it is for me! It’s my passion. My passion which I happened to fall into after doing all I was supposed to do; acquiring a teaching degree, studying music at NEC, etc.
When I grew up, I was approached by a casting director who asked if I would like to be in a play. I turned her down but made a decision to get involved later on and decided to study acting at various places from the Portsmouth Repertory Theatre to Newburyport while participating in many plays and performing original work.
Over three years ago, I decided to join local casting companies in the Boston area and was thrilled when I was cast to play an Italian Dignitary for Pink Panther 2. It was a week long experience – great exposure. Over the past three years, I had the opportunities to join both AFTRA and SAG as well as doing work in movies such as Mall Cop, The Women, The Invention of Lying, Boston’s Finest, and more.
I’ve had the pleasure of taking on camera seminars with people such as Tom Logan, feature film director LA, Tom Kemp and have had wonderful opportunities to meet one on one with Academy Award winner Ernest Thompson, and Marty Swartz, director of Pink Panther, and others.
I’d like to stress the fact that my most wonderful experiences have happened here in the Boston area!
Is this not a place to continue film? Is this not a place to bring the fine creators of such work here? Is this not the place where serious, talented and professional actors can be found, while bringing to producers/directors all they want?
Someone once asked me the question: how rewarding is acting to you both financial and emotionally? I was once told that if one finds their true passion in life and lives it – it’s a great gift. But, if one finds their true passion in life and makes a living doing it, that’s the ultimate. And, so I say the same. Although the monetary value is excellent, it cannot compare to the joy and major fulfillment I feel while being in a role or scene.
